Scott Waller – Eidos Christian Center
Scott is a fellow with Eidos Christian Center in Southern California. His work with the Center involves writing, research, speaking, and teaching designed to equip and train believers to minister to a culture skeptical of the Christian worldview. His heart is to work in a variety of settings in an effort to advance the Gospel in a day when the minds and hearts of many are increasingly cold to the saving message of Christ. He is particularly concerned how the world of ideas impacts students in the educational arena. Scott holds three graduate degrees: an M.A. in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics from Talbot School of Theology (Biola University), an M.A. in Politics, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Claremont Graduate University. He and his wife (Cathy) reside in Orange County, CA with their two kids, Jacob and Renee.
Jerry and Mildred Petersen
Jerry and Mildred Petersen joined Bible Basics International in late 1998 and went on staff full time in 1999. Before going to Radio HRGS on the island of Roatán, Honduras, Jerry produced “A Través de la Biblia,” which is the Spanish version of J. Vernon McGee’s “Thru the Bible.”
The Petersens served twice at Radio HRGS. The first time was a two and a quarter year temporary assignment from 2001 to 2003 while BBI looked for a permanent engineer for the radio station. After returning from that temporary assignment, Jerry returned to radio program production. Jerry and Mildred also served on Oakwood Community Church’s task force that launched Candlewood. Then, in 2007, just as Candlewood began holding services, God called them back to Roatán and they stayed for seven years until BBI turned over the radio station to the Baptist Ministries of Honduras in 2014. Mildred was the finance manager, Jerry the engineer, and they both got plenty of air time to share the Good News with thousands of their listener friends, many of whom became and remain personal friends.
Now that they are back in the U.S., Mildred helps part time with special projects or events at the BBI offices and has become increasingly involved with Bible Basic’s STAR Team ministries. Find out more about STAR Teams at BBI’s web site, http://www.biblebasics.org. After helping on a project to launch a new radio station in Togo, Africa, Jerry continues to provide technical support. Designing and updating the mission’s web site and helping administer BBI’s computer network also help fill the day, especially the website. He also works on a radio program, “Verse by Verse,” featuring expository teaching by a local pastor, Steve Kreloff. Jerry writes and voices the announcements and then produces the program so it can be aired on several radio stations including WTBN, 570 AM right here in Tampa.
Luke and Sarah Schrieber
Luke and Sarah Schrieber are missionaries on staff with ReachGlobal, the EFCA’s missions organization. They are working with a team to strengthen and multiply transformational churches in Mexico City—one of the largest and most influential urban centers in the world. Luke and Sarah feel especially called to focus on reaching the poor, the ignored, and the avoided people and areas of the city with the Gospel.
Before Luke and Sarah were obedient to God’s call to Mexico City, they served for six and a half years in various roles while on staff and as members of Candlewood. They are both graduates of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and they first met as teenagers in New Orleans doing urban, cross-cultural ministry together. They were married in 2009 and have one daughter who was born in October 2015 and a son born in July, 2019.
