In this passage, Matthew offers a strong proof to the Jews that Jesus was their long awaited Messiah. He touched a leper and rather than Jesus becoming unclean, as would happen to anyone else, the leper became clean

The leper’s uncleanness had made a serious impact on His worship and his joy. When Jesus made him clean, then he was able to worship and worship with joy. What a great picture of what Christ does for us!
