Sometimes it Hurts
James 1:2 — "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds ..."
How many times have you been going through a really tough time and some well-meaning person drops this scripture on you? Me going through a bad time and "counting it all joy" just doesn't compute!
While I may struggle with hearing this word from another follower of Christ, it does not change the fact that I need to work through this text from James in order to understand the purpose of suffering in my life.
